USMS Top Ten Info (please read the Top Ten FAQ if you swim USA meets) Below is an excerpt from the FAQ.
Question: I swam in a sanctioned or approved USA Swimming meet. How do I get my times submitted for Top Ten?
Answer: Report your times along with a hardcopy of the official results or a link to the results posted on the official meet website, plus a copy of a valid pool measurement form if not already on file with USMS by submitting them to your LMSC Top Ten person prior to the Submission Deadline for that course. Note: If you set a USMS record, and the course had a bulkhead, there must have been a pool bulkhead confirmation measurement taken before the meet and after each session that you are submitting times for in order for your times to be considered for a USMS record if the meet is a USA sanctioned or USA approved (recognized) meet. Update 1/1/2013: International Masters Meets do not have to be measured using the USMS procedure. The measurement standards in-effect for the National Governing Body will be accepted by USMS. For USA meets, if the pool has been measured according to USMS Standards and is on the USMS List of Measured Pools, the pool meets USMS measurement rules even if the pool has a bulkhead. You do not have to obtain a bulkhead placement confirmation measurement for Top 10 consideration, but you will need the bulkhead placement confirmation measurement if a USMS record is set at the USA meet. For pools not listed on the USMS List of Measured Pools, the pool must then be measured by the USMS swimmer to be allowed. For a USMS Meet dual sanctioned event, all the USMS Measurement Rules apply which includes the bulkhead placement confirmation measurement. The USA measured pools list no longer is proof of a measured pool. If a pool is measured by USA rules, you may obtain the actual measurement documents from the USA facility to support the measurement provided all lanes were measured for the USA measurement documents. Finally, FINA World Records and FINA Top 10 times can only be set in a USMS-Sanctioned event and only in the long course meters or short course meters pool configuration.
